My ornery yet very intelligent 3 year old...

So, nap time lately has been, well, interesting. Typically I put Garrett in his bed first followed by Gunner after his afternoon bottle. Once they're both down I can get busy on my afternoon chores...um, or play on FaceBook. :-) Lately though, I can hear giggling coming from Gunner's room after they're both down. I peek in and see Garrett playing peek-a-boo with Gunner, hiding under Gunner's crib, or dancing around the room to make baby brother laugh. While this is all cute and is what memories are made of, it's dragging out nap time and wearing me thin on patience. Yesterday was no different and Garrett was up to his antics of entertaining brother during nap time. I got it taken care of though and eventually they both took their nap.

Flashforward to last night: Gunner has been asleep for over an hour and Garrett was needing a drink. He's standing in the hall by his bathroom drinking his water and I'm in Gunner's room checking in on him and making sure his monitor is on because when I turned on the receiver in the kitchen it said "no reception." Gunner's door is open, I'm bent over looking where the monitor is...but it isn't there. I look around, under the crib, nowhere...I know I plugged that thing back in when we got back from our vacation. I look up to see Garrett standing in the hallway, ornery grin on his face, and he tells me, "mommy, I put it away."
Me: "what?"
G: "I put it away."
Me: "put what away?"
G: "the monitor, I put it away (more ornery grinning) in bubba's closet."
Me: "why did you put it away?"
G: "so I did!"

The little stinker got smart and unplugged the monitor in Gunner's room so I couldn't hear them in there playing during nap time! It was all I could do to not start laughing at how amusing it was for my 3 year old to unplug the baby monitor. Ornery...but incredibly brilliant...I think! Now, if he is doing this at 3...what does my future hold with two little boys???
