Two Check-Ups...double the fun???

Both boys had their well-checks the day before I reported back to school. When I made the appointment I knew they were both due for shots. So who do you think got to come with us??? Daddy! Yea! Mommy can handle doctor visits and mommy can handle shots for one kiddo (with a few tears from both of us), but mommy CANNOT handle shots for two kiddos.

Garrett now weighs 46lbs and is 43 inches tall...WOWZER! He continues to hover in the 95th percentile.

Gunner now weighs 23lbs 12oz and is 31 1/2 inches tall. He is in the 75th % for weight and 95th % for height. Not too shabby for a little boy who was struggling to put weight on after he was born.

The doctor looked back on Garrett's records at this age just to compare. At his one year check up Garrett was 27lbs 13oz and 31 inches tall. Gunner is 4 lbs lighter but a half inch longer than brother was. It's amazing what 4 lbs and a half inch difference looks like when you go back through their pictures and compare.

Garrett said he wanted Gunner to go first on shots. Gunner got 3 and cried for a little bit but calmed down fairly quickly after I scooped him up. Garrett on the other hand, had to get 4 shots. Grant had to sit Garrett on his lap, wrap his legs around Garrett's legs, and wrap his arms around Garrett's upper body just to hold him still. It was not a pretty sight. Of course, all of that drama and I'm tearing up as well. Thankfully the nurse told Garrett that he won't need any more shots for at least 10 years. Whew!

To make it all better, we went to Wendy's afterwards for lunch and frosties. Both of our parents would take us for a Frosty after a doctor visit and, since we take our kids to a pediatrician in Bartlesville, we do the same! It's funny how that happens!
